Biography and Business Background

Bill Battaglia is President and CEO of Battaglia Group Management, LLC. As the company’s chief executive, he oversees the family business’ real estate investment and management pursuits, including the acquisition, land planning, development, financing, leasing, management and sale of agricultural, residential and commercial real property throughout Central Florida.

Bill grew up in Winter Park and attended Orange County public schools. He attended the University of Florida where he received an accounting degree. Bill then received a Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law. After working with the Internal Revenue Service for two years in the Palm Beaches, Bill received his Master of Laws degree in Taxation from the University of Florida College of Law. Bill then practiced tax law in Tallahassee for five years before returning to Central Florida in 1982. There he engaged in private practice until 1999 at which time he left the practice of law to join the family business.

Bill has also served on and chaired numerous professional, civic, charitable, religious, social and governmental boards over the years. His current and previous positions include the Florida Bar Tax Section Executive Council and Director of the Executive Committee, Chair and Vice Chair of the Florida Bar Tax Certification Committee, Chair and Vice Chair of the University of Florida Orlando Regional Council Florida Tomorrow Campaign, Chair and Vice Chair of the Winter Park Board of Adjustment, and Florida Gubernatorial appointment to both the Wekiva River Basin Coordinating Committee and the Wekiva Commission.

Bill and his wife, Sharon, reside in Winter Park, Florida; as do their three daughters and son-in-laws, and ten grandchildren.
